Abstract A novel twistacene 11,12‐dichloro‐9,14‐diphenyldibenzo [ de , qr ]tetracene ( TPyC ) has been synthesized in one pot through classical Diels‐Alder cycloaddition reaction and fully characterized. Its analogues TPyO , TPyS , TPyF and TPyB were re‐prepared through the reported methods. All of them emitted blue fluorescence in toluene solution. The self‐assembly properties based on the as‐prepared molecules were examined in detail by re‐precipitation method, suggesting that the terminal substituents, temperature and solvent could affect the aggregation morphology in large part.
