In this paper, a hue‐preserving saturation adjustment mechanism processing in RGB color space is proposed for color images. It avoids the gamut problem thoroughly that can arise from the conversion between RGB space and other color coordinate. Furthermore, an image‐adaptive saturation enhancement algorithm based on detail feedback is introduced. Experimental results show that more detail information of images is remained in our proposed method.
