The dependences of the standard deviations of temperature (σ r ), total horizontal and vertical velocities (σ uH and σ w respectively) on local parameters are investigated in the atmospheric boundary layer. Useful expressions are obtained that enable rough estimates of σ w and σ T to be made in the bulk of the boundary layer.
