On the basis of the magnetic properties the statistical homogeneity of the solid solutions in the Al 2 O 3 ‐V 2 O 3 system is investigated. It is shown that the V 3+ ‐ion distribution in the ( V x Al l− x ) 2 O 3 lattice in the range of vanadium content 0.0096 ≦ x ≦ 0.195 does not obey statistical regularities. Clusters of two and three exchange‐interacting V 3 + ions are observed in the structure of the (V x Al 1− x ) 2 O 3 solid solutions.
