Abstract Valence band spectra of SnS 2 are measured in dependence on the polar electron emission angle. Moreover, the valence band spectra of Sp‐like electrons are calculated on the basis of two different densities of states. The possibilities but also the limits of the ARXPS with reference to a detailed comparison of measurements and calculations are shown.
