Abstract A theoretical calculation of the positron and electron Kumakhov radiation peak energies at planar channeling in simple crystals (diamond, silicon, and germanium) is made. The particle energies are in the range 28 to 56 MeV. The calculation is based on a potential model, proposed earlier. A detailed comparison with experiments and other theoretical models is given.
