Abstract We propose and study a differential equation whose dynamics are governed by predictions of its future states. General formalism and concrete examples are presented. We find that the dynamical characteristics depend on both how to shape predictions as well as how far ahead in time to make them. This can be thought of one of examples of dynamical complexity caused by a temporal non‐locality. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
