Abstract It is the purpose of this paper to state two theorems which haven't been stated explicitely before, namely the diffusive stability of spatially periodic traveling wave solutions and the diffusive mixing of the phase for Turing pattern. Although true for general systems, the results are only formulated for the Taylor‐Couette problem, a paradigm of pattern forming systems.
