Corroles exhibit rich spectroscopic features such as high molar extinction coefficients and fluorescence quantum yields. The core can accommodate various metal ions, which can act as active centers, and the periphery can be functionalized to enhance binding specificity. This work focusses on the synthesis of meso ‐triarylcorroles and their functionalization for use as fluorescent chemosensors of anions and metals.
