Abstract This note presents a wavelets‐Galerkin scheme for the numerical solution of a Stokes problem by using the scaling function of a symmetric biorthogonal spline wavelets that can be modified to generate the divergence‐free wavelets. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
