Abstract The motion of a terthered buoyant platform (TBP) in a regular train is investigated numerically using the Zienkiewicz four‐time‐level scheme. 5 Wave forces are calculated using Morison's equation 7 and linear wave theory. Results are presented for the theoretical response to the periodic forcing function for an optimized method, 6 Wood, A., 6 Wilson θ =1.4 12 and Houbolt 13 and compared with the actual computed behaviour of the TBP.
