The phase space description of Fourier‐based imaging methods is extended to describe imaging of heterogeneous distributions of chemical shift, J coupling, and T 1 and T 2 relaxation. Simple graphical illustrations for a general class of spectroscopic imaging experiments are provided. © Academic Press, Inc.
