Abstract The effect of impurity ( p ‐toluidine) on the nuclear quadrupole resonance of two different nuclei ( 35 Cl and 14 N) in the same molecule has been studied. The 14 N resonance is unaffected whereas the 35 Cl resonance is greatly reduced.
