Abstract A novel design for T‐shaped and Π‐shaped transmission lines on dual‐band bandpass filters are proposed to efficiently suppress high‐frequency harmonic. The dual‐band can be designed using stepped‐impedance resonators. The harmonic suppression of the proposed dual‐band bandpass filter is extended to 12 GHz with a rejection level higher than −20 dB. The measured results concur with the full‐wave simulation results. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 57:547–551, 2015
