Abstract A simple model that captures nonlinear memory effects in wideband amplifiers is presented in this work. The model defines an equivalent hypothetical load impedance that explains asymmetries, in magnitude and phase, in two‐tone IM products, showing good correspondence with measurements. It helps to understand the intermodulation distortion dependence on modulation bandwidth. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
