Abstract A simple semicircular‐patch bandpass filter (BPF) is presented in this letter. The slot between two semicircular‐patch resonators provides DC blocking and a strong coupling, while the slotted orthogonally feed lines are used to obtain the dual‐mode characteristics. Measurement demonstrates the proposed design methodology and filter. As we know, this is the first report on the microstrip dual‐mode BPF using semicircular‐patch structure. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
