A Methanoditetrazolo‐[1,3,6,8]tetrazecine from 5‐(Chloro‐methyl)tetrazole and Hexamethylenetetramine In contrast to N ‐substituted 5‐(chloromethyl)tetrazoles ( 1 ; Ralkyl, aryl), the parent compound 1 (RH) reacts with hexamethylenetetramine to give the methanoditetrazolo‐[1,3,6,8]tetrazecine 4 , a rather unusual system. This compound which is also produced on reaction of 7 with formaldehyde occurs in the (6 RS ,13 RS ) form.
