Phosphor‐converted white‐light LEDs are promising as the next generation for lighting applications due to their solid‐state nature, energy savings, compact size, long life, and environmental friendliness. In this presentation, recent developments in LED phosphors for solid‐state lighting (SSL) as well as displays (LCD backlighting) will be presented.
