Recent developments in the statistical mechanics of fluid mixtures due to Rowlinson and co‐workers have been applied to H 2 S/n‐alkane mixtures. The results have then been used to estimate the compressibility factor of a real sour gas mixture and the predicted theoretical value is found to be in excellent agreement with experiment.
