Key Clinical Message Cryptococcosis is a potentially fatal fungal infection caused mainly by Cryptocococcus neoformans ( CN ) species and it rarely infects immunocompetent hosts. The outcomes are better only if the condition is suspected and diagnosed early and treatment is instituted.
