Key Clinical Message Renal vascular malformations may mimic hydronephrosis on gray‐scale ultrasound and can be easily differentiated using color doppler imaging. Non‐radiology physicians performing point‐of‐care renal ultrasound should be aware of this finding to avoid mismanagement.
