We study the large $N_\text{c}$ scaling of meson-meson scattering amplitudesin a theory with $N_\text{f}=4$ degenerate quark flavors. We focus on twodifferent scattering channels, one having the same quantum numbers as somerecently found tetraquark states at LHCb. Using L\"uscher's formalism, we studythe $N_\text{c}$ dependence of the scattering phase shift and investigate thepresence of exotic resonances in the scattering amplitude. We analyze theimpact of including two-vector-meson and tetraquark-like operators to extractthe finite-volume energies.
