Technological progress has persistently shaped the dynamics of human-machineinteractions in task execution. In response to the advancements in GenerativeAI, this paper outlines a detailed study plan that investigates varioushuman-AI interaction modalities across a range of tasks, characterized bydiffering levels of creativity and complexity. This exploration aims to informand contribute to the development of Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) thateffectively integrate with and enhance the capabilities of Generative AIsystems. The study comprises three parts: exploring fixed-scope tasks throughnews headline generation, delving into atomic creative tasks with analogygeneration, and investigating complex tasks via data visualization. Future workaims to extend this exploration to linearize complex data analysis results intonarratives understandable to a broader audience, thereby enhancing theinterpretability of AI-generated content.
