For settling the problem with rotating turbulence modelling, a quasi-dynamicone-equation subgrid-scale (SGS) model is proposed in this paper. Consideringthe key role of the joint cascade of kinetic energy and helicity in rotatingturbulence, the new SGS model is constrained by the fluxes of kinetic energyand helicity. Specifically, the new theory of dual channels of helicity flux istaken into account. The modelling of the unclosed quantities is achieved byadopting a quasi-dynamic process that eliminates the need for test filteringcompared to the classic dynamic process, and the model coefficients aredynamically obtained through the SGS kinetic energy transport equation andconsidering the joint constraints of kinetic energy and helicity fluxes. As aresult, the model demonstrates a high correlation with DNS data in a prioritests. We refer to this new model as the quasi-dynamic joint-constraint model(QCM), which is introduced for both incompressible and compressible flows. Toassess the effectiveness of the QCM, numerical experiments are conducted forthree typical cases: incompressible streamwise rotating channel flow, transonicstreamwise rotating annular pipe flow, and hypersonic transition flow at Mach 6over a rotating cone. The results suggest that the QCM has the potential tosignificantly improve the prediction of rotational flows that are stronglyinfluenced by helicity. Additionally, the new model demonstrates excellentcapability in handling the transition process.
