We present the detection of a magnetized dust ring (M0.8-0.2) in the CentralMolecular Zone (CMZ) of the Galactic Center. The results presented in thispaper utilize the first data release (DR1) of the Far-Infrared PolarimetricLarge Area CMZ Exploration (FIREPLACE) survey (i.e., FIREPLACE I; Butterfieldet al. 2023). The FIREPLACE survey is a 214 $\mu$m polarimetic survey of theGalactic Center using the SOFIA/HAWC+ telescope. The M0.8-0.2 ring is a regionof gas and dust that has a circular morphology with a central depression. Thedust polarization in the M0.8-0.2 ring implies a curved magnetic field thattraces the ring-like structure of the cloud. We posit an interpretation inwhich an expanding shell compresses and concentrates the ambient gas andmagnetic field. We argue that this compression results in the strengthening ofthe magnetic field, as we infer from the observations toward the interior ofthe ring.
