We have employed equation-of-motion coupled-cluster (EOM-CC) method in thefour-component relativistic theory framework to understand roles of electroncorrelation effects in the $\textit{ab initio}$ estimations of electric dipolepolarizabilities ($\alpha$) of the states engaged in the clock transition($^{1}$S$_{0}$$\rightarrow$$^{3}$P$_{0}$) of the zinc atom. Roles of basissize, inclusion of higher-level excitations, and higher-order relativisticeffects in the evaluation of both excitation energies of a few low-lyingexcited states and $\alpha$ are analyzed systematically. Our EOM-CC values arecompared with the earlier reported theoretical and experimental results. Thisdemonstrates the capability of the EOM-CC method to ascertain the precisenessof the black-body radiation shift in a clock transition, which holds paramountimportance for optical clock-based experiments.
