Ultrasound Computed Tomography (USCT) provides a radiation-free option forhigh-resolution clinical imaging. Despite its potential, the computationallyintensive Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) required for tissue propertyreconstruction limits its clinical utility. This paper introduces the NeuralBorn Series Operator (NBSO), a novel technique designed to speed up wavesimulations, thereby facilitating a more efficient USCT image reconstructionprocess through an NBSO-based FWI pipeline. Thoroughly validated oncomprehensive brain and breast datasets, simulated under experimental USCTconditions, the NBSO proves to be accurate and efficient in both forwardsimulation and image reconstruction. This advancement demonstrates thepotential of neural operators in facilitating near real-time USCTreconstruction, making the clinical application of USCT increasingly viable andpromising.
