We carried out particle-in-cell numerical modelling of various multicomponentcurrent sheets of the family of analytically found Vlasov--Maxwell equilibriathat allow for an arbitrary particle energy distribution. Depending on theparameters, the development of small-scale Weibel-type instability inside thesheet is either possible or excluded. Both cases were studied and compared fortwo variants of the particle energy distribution -- Maxwellian and Kappa. Wediscuss the applicability of the developed model of current sheets and theresults on their small-scale instability to describe physical phenomena in thevicinity of the magnetopauses of planets and late-type stars.
