We present an experimental demonstration of loop-gap resonators (LGRs) forcontinuous-wave electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy at cryogenictemperatures and to investigate the hybridization of solid-state magneticmaterials with microwave cavity modes. The simple experimental setup,implemented in a conventional cryogenic platform for materials research, allowsto obtain ESR spectra to temperatures as low as 2 K. The versatility of thisapproach is demonstrated through experiments on two transition-metal-basedHeisenberg antiferromagnets, CuSO$_4$5H$_2$O and MgCr$_2$O$_4$, showcasingsimple measurements of their gyromagnetic factor and magnetic susceptibilities.Our work also demonstrates the realization of strong microwave cavity-spincoupling in CuSO$_4$5H$_2$O and delves into the challenges of fitting ESRspectra under strong hybridization conditions, underscoring the significance ofproper calibration and stabilization.
