We present a theoretical study of resonance lifetimes in a two-componentthree-body system, specifically examining the decay of three-body resonancesinto a deep dimer and an unbound particle. Utilising the Gaussian expansionmethod together with the complex scaling method, we obtain the widths of theseresonances from first principles. We focus on mass ratios in the typical rangefor mixtures of ultracold atoms and reveal a pronounced dependence of theresonance widths on the mass ratio: a distinct maximum near the equal-massscenario and a rapid decrease away from it. Moreover, we show that thisbehaviour is not covered by the analytical formula of Pen'kov~[Phys. Rev. A 60,3756 (1999)]. Notably, near the mass ratio for Caesium-Lithium mixtures, weobtain nearly vanishing widths of the resonances which validates to treat themin the bound state approximation. In addition, we perform our analysis on theresonance widths in both one and three dimensions and find that theirqualitative dependence on the mass ratio agrees.
