We consider the distillation of squeezing in single mode squeezed vacuumstate using three different probabilistic non-Gaussian operations: photonsubtraction (PS), photon addition (PA) and photon catalysis (PC). To accomplishthis, we consider a practical model to implement these non-Gaussian operationsand derive the Wigner characteristic function of the resulting non-Gaussianstates. Our result shows that while PS and PC operations can distill squeezing,PA operations cannot. Furthermore, we delve into the success probabilitiesassociated with these non-Gaussian operations and identify optimal parametersfor the distillation of squeezing. Our current analysis holds significantrelevance for experimental endeavors concerned with squeezing distillation.
