We propose a new approach to improve the precision of astrophysical parameterconstraints for the 21cm signal from Epoch of Reionization (EoR). Our methodintroduces new sets of summary statistics, hereafter evolution compressedstatistics, that quantify the spectral evolution of the 2D spatial statisticscomputed a fixed redshift. We defined such compressed statistics for PowerSpectrum (PS), as well as Reduced Wavelet Scattering Transform (RWST) andWavelet Moments (WM), which also characterise non-Gaussian features. To comparethese different statistics with fiducial 3D power spectrum, we estimate theirFisher information on three cosmological parameters from an ensemble ofsimulations of 21cm EoR data, both in noiseless and noisy scenarios usingSquare Kilometre Array (SKA) noise levels equivalent to 100 and 1000 hours ofobservations. For the noiseless case, the compressed wavelet statistics giveconstraints up to five times higher precision than the 3D isotropic powerspectrum, while for 100h SKA noise, for which non-Gaussian features are hard toextract, they still give constraints which are 30% better. From this study, wedemonstrate that evolution-compressed statistics extract more information thanusual 3D isotropic approaches and that our wavelet-based statistics canconsistently outmatch power spectrum-based statistics. When constructing suchwavelet-based statistics, we also emphasise the need to choose a set ofwavelets with an appropriate spectral resolution concerning the astrophysicalprocess studied.
