A calculation of the angular moments of two-pion photoproduction ispresented. The underlying theoretical model encodes the prominent $\rho(770)$resonance and the expected leading background contribution coming from the Deckmechanism. The model contains a number of free parameters which are fit toexperimental data. A good description of the angular moments is obtained.
