Braneworld models remain the most promising candidates to address severalimportant questions in low-energy particle phenomenology and cosmology. Therole of the moduli field(s) and its stabilization is an integral part of thisquestion. In this work, we show that a 5-dimensional warped braneworld modelwith higher curvature gravity in bulk admits de-Sitter and anti de-Sittersolutions on the branes. The remarkable feature of having a positive vacuumenergy on the visible brane is the presence of a metastable minimum and aglobal minimum for the modulus potential. While the metastable minimum leads toa consistent cosmological model of a bouncing universe, the concomitantexistence of the global minimum provides a vacuum for the modulus to roll downto stability. Further, this model is shown to be consistent with the swamplandconjecture to qualify as a viable candidate in the low energy description ofstring landscape
