Optical techniques for precise and repeatable spectroscopy ofytterbium-isotope-171 ion ($^{171}\mathrm{Yb}^{3+}$) hyperfine structure werestudied. Large energy spacing of $^{171}\mathrm{Yb}^{3+}$ regarded as the mainmotivation for state preparations required for quantum memory and transducerapplications promoted us to develop stabilization and control of opticalfrequencies of lasers simultaneously over a wide range of 3 gigahertz's. Wealso built our own 2.7 kelvins cryogenic system for radio-wave assisted opticalspectroscopy. We attained to high resolution and sensitivity both in pump-probesaturation spectroscopy and Raman heterodyne spectroscopy. The first one gave ahigh resolution spectrum of hyperfine structure, and the second one enabled todetect paramagnetic spin resonance efficiently for wide ranges ofradio-frequency. As the Raman heterodyne process of our interest is theup-conversion of transductions, we made efforts at optimizing sensitivity ofRaman heterodyne detections with selecting the best crystal orientation andwith efficient radio-wave coupling for future applications toward photontransducer.
