Shift manipulation of intrinsic localized mode (ILM) is numerically discussedin an ac driven Klein Gordon lattice. Before the manipulation, we introduce the2-degree of freedom nonlinear system, which is obtained by reducing thelattice. In the reduced system, two localized modes correspond to ILMs in theoriginal system. These two localized modes are switched by changing a couplingconstant adiabatically. Based on the result obtained in the reduced system, wenumerically show that the shift manipulation of ILM is achieved, like aparticle, by using an adiabatic change of coupling constant between thetargeted sites in the lattice.
