This position paper discusses the negative effects of excessive smartphoneusage on mental health and well-being. Despite efforts to limit smartphoneusage, users become desensitized to reminders and limitations. The paperproposes the use of Push & Pull Factors to contextualize interventionstrategies promoting digital well-being. Further, alternative metrics tomeasure the effectiveness of intervention strategies will be discussed.
