Eccentricity is a smoking gun for the formation channel of stellar-massbinary black holes (sBBHs). Space-based gravitational wave observatories candetermine binary eccentricity to $e_0\gtrsim\mathcal{O}(10^{-4}) $, but thedetection of these systems can be very challenging. A targeted search ofarchival data triggered by ground-based detectors shrinks the search range thusmaking the task tractable. Previous studies ignored the effect of eccentricity.For the first time, we constructed a template bank for space-bornegravitational wave detectors that includes the impact of eccentricity. We findthat even for a mild upper limit of $0.1$, the inclusion of eccentricity canstill boost the template bank size by five orders of magnitudes. Our workmarked a solid step towards the detection of a realistic sBBH, and itdemonstrated that with the appropriate extension, the template bank method canstill identify the early inspiral of sBBHs.
