In this paper, a non-intrusive reduced-order model (ROM) for parametricreactor kinetics simulations is presented. Time-dependent ROMs are notoriouslydata intensive and difficult to implement when nonlinear multiphysics phenomenaare considered. These challenges are exacerbated when parametric dependenciesare included. The proper orthogonal decomposition mode coefficientinterpolation (POD-MCI) ROM presented in this work can be constructed directlyfrom lower-dimensional quantities of interest (QoIs) and is independent of theunderlying model. This greatly alleviates the data requirement of many existingROMs and can be used without modification on arbitrarily complex models orexperimental data. The POD-MCI ROM is demonstrated on a number of examples andyields accurate characterizations of the QoIs within the selected parameterspaces at extremely attractive computational speed-up factors relative to thefull-order models (FOMs).
