Compared to smooth surfaces, droplet spreading on porous surfaces is morecomplex and has relevance in many engineering applications. In this work, weinvestigate the infiltration dynamics of molten sand droplets on structuredporous surfaces using the multiphase many-body dissipative particle dynamics(mDPD) method. We carry out three-dimensional simulations with differentequilibrium contact angles and surface porosities. The temporal evolution ofthe radius of the wetted area follows a power law, as in the case of a smoothsurface. The infiltration rate on the other hand is dictated by the competitionbetween spreading and capillary inhibition of the pores. Additionally, thetemporal evolution of the droplet height and the contact angle on the poroussurface is also presented.
