Generalizing the foundational work of Grove and Searle, the second authorproved upper bounds on the ranks of isometry groups of closed Riemannianmanifolds with positive intermediate Ricci curvature and established sometopological rigidity results in the case of maximal symmetry rank and positivesecond intermediate Ricci curvature. Here, we recover even stronger topologicalrigidity, including results for higher intermediate Ricci curvatures and formanifolds with nontrivial fundamental groups.
