We present the theoretical status of the lifetimes of weakly decaying heavyhadrons containing a bottom or a charm quark, and discuss the currentpredictions, based on the framework of the Heavy Quark Expansion (HQE), forboth mesons and baryons. Potential improvements to reduce the theoreticaluncertainties are also highlighted.
