The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is formed by connecting vehicles to Internetof Things. It enables vehicles to ubiquitously access to the information ofcustomers (drivers), suppliers, and even producers to structure an IoV-basedindustrial value chain. Nevertheless, with the increase in vehicle networkingand the information exchange among drivers, suppliers, and producers,communication security is emerging as a serious issue. In this article, weprovide an overview of the communication security, and a summary of securityrequirements. Moreover, we clarify how security solutions can be used toconquer security challenges in the value chain. Finally, an example of attackdetection and identification in Electronic Control Units (ECUs) of vehicles isused to concretely illustrate the challenges.
