In the present work, the significance of various components (ground electrodematerial and its surface (knurling pitch size), power electrode material andtype, and dielectric material) of dielectric barrier discharge plasma device(DBD-PD) on plasma and plasma-activated water (PAW) properties are studied. Thecharacterization of plasma is performed by studying voltage-current waveformand plasma discharge power. In addition, the characterization of PAW isperformed by studying the physicochemical properties (PP) and reactiveoxygennitrogen species (RONS) concentration. The results of plasmacharacterization and PAW properties reveals that introducing knurling to groundelectrodes showed significant improve the physicochemical properties of PAW andRONS concentration. Moreover, the use of quartz over glass as dielectric layerprovides a substantial enhancement in PAW properties. Furthermore, the use ofwire as a power electrode compared to mesh and sheet also help in improving thePAW properties. Further, we observed that the ground and power electrodes madeusing copper enriches the RONS concentration and physicochemical properties ofPAW compared to brass and stainless steel.
