We define Fenchel-Nielsen coordinates for representations of surface groupsto ${\rm SL}(3,{\mathbb C})$. We also show how these coordinates relate to theclassical Fenchel-Nielsen coordinates and to their generalisations byKourouniotis, Tan, Goldman, Zhang and Parker-Platis.
