Recent CDF II collaboration results on $W$ mass measurements contradictStandard Model~(SM) prediction, requiring new physics to explain this anomaly.To explain this issue, in this paper we investigate the idea of using the$U(1)_{B-L}$ gauged SM extension. We demonstrate that $B-L$ extended models canexplain the revised best fit values for $S$, $T$, and $U$ following the CDF IIresults. We studied the parameter space of models with and without mixingbetween neutral gauge bosons. We also reviewed the dark matter constraints anddemonstrated that there is parameter space which is compatible with current $W$boson mass, relic abundance, and direct detection experiments.
