The heat-treated oxyfluoride glasses with different contents of thulium Tm3+and holmium Ho3+ ions have been studied using small-angle X-ray scattering anddiffraction. With an increase in relative concentration of added Ho2O3 andTm2O3 oxides, the growing in the average size of both nanoparticles and localdensity fluctuations in the glass matrix is observed. In addition, at highrelative concentrations of initial rare-earth oxides, the appearance of acrystalline cubic phase PbF2:Tm-Ho is observed, which can provide a source ofup-conversion luminescence in the studied glass materials. A change in theconcentration of the initial Ho2O3 and Tm2O3 oxides does not effect on amorphology and fractal dimension of the formed luminescence nanoparticles. Thestructural aspects of nanoparticle formation with up-conversion luminescencephenomenon are discussed.
