The principle of maximum conformality (PMC) is used to remove uncertaintiesfrom the renormalization scale and the renormalization scheme, removingunnecessary systematic errors for high-precision pQCD predictions. In thispaper, we will use PMC to improve the determination of the decay width of the Wboson in hadrons, working the corrections coming from the perturbative QuantumChromodynamics (pQCD) theory at the four-loop level. In conventional scaling,we find that only at high correction orders, the initial scaling dependence ofrenormalization is little, whereas, in single-scale PMC, we obtain an initialscaling-independent result, including the case determined via BLM/ PMC.Finally, the wide hadronic decay of W is used for an indirect determination ofthe the charm-strange mixing parameter.
