An overview is provided of the scientific goals of the Magellanic Cloudcomponent of the STScI Directors Discretionary UV initiative ULLYSES, togetherwith the complementary spectroscopic survey XShootU (VLT/Xshooter) and otherancillary datasets. Together, ULLYSES and XShootU permit the firstcomprehensive, homogeneous study of wind densities and velocities in metal-poormassive stars, plus UV/optical spectroscopic libraries for population synthesismodels and a large number of interstellar sight-lines towards the MagellanicClouds.
