Herein, we discover that infrared radiation frommultilayer graphene electrothermal film can obviously promote the appearance ofalpha and theta brainwave in human mind. In particular, the occurrencefrequency of the alpha and theta waves in EEG can be effectively enhanced up to2.3 and 3.0 times, respectively. And the duration time of the alpha and thetawaves in EEG can also be effectively extended. The mechanism may be attributedto the efficient infrared radiation caused by graphene mainly focused on therange from 7 to 14 micron, coinciding with the radiation wavelength of naturalhuman body, which can be effectively absorbed by the human skin and speed upthe blood microcirculation and metabolism. The comparative effect of differentworking temperature and heating materials such as water, Cu and even monolayergraphene are systematically investigated, indicating the infrared radiationfrom the multilayer graphene electrothermal film at 50 degrees has the largestenhancement effect of alpha and theta brainwaves. The multilayer graphene filmelectrical heater represents a convenient and surprising way for triggering thealpha and theta brainwaves, which has many potential applications in the areaof enlarged health cerements.
